Easy life

Easy life
Evening near the shore.

There is no location more fitting for regeneration than our wonderful hotel in Bali. The first weak day I go with „eat – drink – heal“ as in: eat bananas and honeybread, drink coconut water and tea and read and sleep. As Sarinah seems to get the same symptoms in the evening, the doctor visites again. At least this time we could stop the bacteria in the heels and she has not to be dripped.

The family cares for us. They are always there to call and when we have an idea or a whish, they had them shortly before and already arranged (smiley). As I am starting to feel better, that is more adventerous on the second day of the illness, I head for the nearby pharmacy for myself. At my short stroll through town I get in touch with Bali (even though from a very touristic perspective). There is no hiding for me, that I am not from here, my friend says, that I look like a tourist even in germany. As a consequence everbody wants to offer me something three taxis, two leg-massages, eight regular massages and two „massages“?!😳

Sarinah is going to bed early and the familiy, nice as they are, take me for diner in a lovely italian restaurant. The best thing about this place is the outddor cinema screen near the tables playing Chaplin „The great dictator“ all the time. We have some interesting conversations: With the adults about economy; with the kids about important things (from a like axolotl to s like stranger things). As an effect I start to get warm with the nicknames my (I think of them as) nieces give me: „uncle stranger things“ (because we love the TV Show) and „Mr. Lutz“.🥸

In the morning we feel like the nightly rain washed away parts of the illness. We are starting to eat real food again. After midday the family takes us to a hotel at the opposite coast and we spend the afternoon playing in the pool with the nieces and watching the beautiful shore.

Life is easy for us on Bali: Almost everything is beautiful (even the ruins), the food is great and the climate fits my body perfectly. To cite the uncle loosely: „I dont’t know if I am able to adapt to normal life again“.
